There are easter eggs included on two of the discs in the US release; details below:

On disc one, there’s also an Easter egg that prompts you to insert the disc into your computer to access the original pilot script. On disc five, there are two Easter eggs. The Truth, running 15:54, where Friedman tells a story about a mysterious contact in the government who told him the “secret” of the universe, may be as fascinating as the entire series (Zabel is right; he’s a hell of a storyteller). Future Seasons, running 6:58, has the producers discussing their aborted plans to continue the series’ second season.

The Dark Skies DVD is here! Got it today I’ve already had a look at it, and it’s awesome to have the episodes in DVD quality, without channel logos and buzz

One thing is weird though: the pilot episode The Awakening is located among the extras on disc 5! What kind of reasoning is that!? You have to watch the pilot first or you don’t know what the hell is going on!

Got a note that my Dark Skies DVD boxset was dispatched on Thursday It should get here someday next and I can’t wait to get it! As soon as I get, I’ll do some episode screencapping – the only thing is, which one should I do first?!?

I have placed my pre-order for the R2 DVD release of Dark Skies. It’ll be out on Oct. 18 – which is next Monday! I can’t wait to get it in my greedy little hands!

Bryce Zabel has posted about the this DVD release by Medium Rare Entertainment, and the January 2011 R1 release by Shout! Factory. The Shout! Factory release, for US markets, will have extras while the October 18, 2010 UK Medium Rare Entertainment release is an episodes-only package according to Zabel’s bio page.

I’ll propably end up getting both

There were plans for a DVD release a few years ago but it fell through because of expensive music lisences needed. I had accepted that it’d never ever see a DVD release and that VHS and lousy quality digi-tv rips would ever be all that there is. I hope this one happens and doesn’t fall through for any reason!
